The ACCESS for Education Foundation
The purpose of the ACCESS for Education Foundation
is to provide
educational and public outreach focused on
space research, development, and commercialization.
The ACCESS for Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation of
Microgravity Enterprises, Inc (MEI).
Established in 2007,
the purpose of the ACCESS Foundation is to carry
out MEI's educational mission,
namely to provide educational and public outreach focused on space research, development and
commercialization.
The ACCESS for Education Foundation functions through contributions from corporate partners, grants, and individual donations. Donations to the ACCESS for Education Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. ACCESS Goals:
- Inspire and facilitate the next generation of scientists and entrepreneurs by providing outreach and education opportunities focused on space research and development.
- Advance the commercialization of space through a national handson space experiment flight program The ACCESS for Education Program.
ACCESS Programs:
- The ACCESS For Education Program (also called the ACCESS Program), which inspires and facilitates students in developing payloads that actually fly to space! The program includes a full spectrum of activities ranging from K12 Inspirational payloads, to next generation commercial space demonstration payloads developed by U.S. universities.;
- K12 educational outreach through classroom presentations, workshops, and seminars, as well as the development of grade-level appropriate space-themed lesson plans;
- University level workshops and seminars designed to facilitate students and professors in developing Research payload designs and payload testing procedures; and
- Organizing and developing student attendance at rocket launch events.
ACCESS Board of Directors:
- Dr. Jeff Ganley
- Dr. Jeff Ganley is the President of the ACCESS for Education Foundation. Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and his Master of Science and PhD degrees in Engineering from the University of New Mexico. He has over 10 years of aerospace engineering experience, primarily in the area of educational payload/satellite development, integration, and launch. Jeffs current research interests include the development of innovative pressurized space systems, as well as novel commercial space research and development. In addition to his duties as president, Jeff serves as the ACCESS Program Coordinator for the ACCESS Foundation.
- Mr. Rich Glover
- Mr. Rich Glover is the VicePresident of the ACCESS for Education Foundation. Rich received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of TexasEl Paso and his Master of Science degree in Engineering from University of TexasAustin. He has over 25 years of aerospace engineering experience, primarily in the area of marketing and business development. Richs contributions to the ACCESS for Education Foundation include coordinating launch opportunities for the ACCESS Program, as well as business development for the Foundation.
- Ms. Sally Ganley
- Ms. Sally Ganley is the Secretary of the ACCESS for Education Foundation. Sally received her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Science degree in Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Sallys contributions to the ACCESS for Education Foundation include organizing and preparing classroom presentations, developing and maintaining the Foundation website, and organizing and documenting the nonprofit requirements for the Foundation.
